Behind all of these various claims from this progressive Christian is the idea that you can reinvent Christianity however you like with no accountability to a consistent view of Scripture or Jesus. In today’s case, there seems to be a very odd reference (seemingly out of context or just made up) to a former pope in the place of quoting scripture.
